Description
Distilled using 100% peated malted barley from Scotland. Matured in an ex-Bourbon American oak barrel for four years, then finished for six months with Aspen wood from Colorado.
Nose: Medicinal and phenolic. Dank warehouse. Tropical fruits including ripe bananas and sweet fried plantain.
Palate: Sweet peat, honey, peaches, and licorice with pencil shavings and lingering phenolic notes.
Probably the first-ever peated single malt whisky finished with Aspen wood. The result is a smooth, well-rounded, fruity, and lightly woody whisky.
